Председатель Совета безопасности России Дмитрий Медведев заявил, что процесс очищения немецкого общества и Европы от нацистской идеологии не был завершен. В своей статье, приуроченной к 81-й годовщине победы над нацистской Германией, бывший российский президент утверждает, что западные державы превратили денацификацию в фарс.По словам Медведева, архивные данные Службы внешней разведки РФ, включая документы о политической ситуации в ФРГ 1952 года, свидетельствуют о том, что вместо реализации плана денацификации западные страны пошли по пути оправдания нацистских военных преступников. Он добавил, что «англосаксы» стремились сохранить ключевых представителей нацистской верхушки и лидеров военной экономики Гитлера, действуя по принципу «казнить мелких, оправдать крупных».Ранее Москва неоднократно обвиняла Запад в историческом реваншизме и попытках переписать итоги Второй мировой войны. В частности, СВР РФ заявляла о наличии у немецкого политика Фридриха Мерца «маниакального стремления к мести» России, основанного на обидах времен нацистской эпохи. Официальный представитель МИД РФ Мария Захарова также отмечала, что некоторые западные страны не признают результаты Нюрнбергского трибунала и рассматривают победу СССР как ошибку, которую необходимо исправить.
